Session overviews

Design Thinking in Leadership Practice – Prof. Joanna Żukowska, ACC

Design thinking is a modern approach that supports leaders in creating innovative solutions and leading teams effectively. This talk introduces practical tools – empathy map, customer journey map, ideation, and rapid prototyping – that help leaders understand stakeholder needs, spark team creativity, and implement solutions that answer real business challenges.
Participants will learn to:

  • Apply empathy and journey mapping to surface stakeholder needs.
  • Use ideation techniques to generate high-value options.
  • Prototype quickly to test assumptions and reduce risk.
  • Translate insights into implementable actions within their teams.

Leader with a Coaching Mindset – Sofia Rodrigues

What distinguishes today’s most effective leaders isn’t just what they do – but how they think. A coaching mindset brings curiosity, openness, and deep listening into leadership, creating space for innovation, ownership, and sustainable growth. This session shows how leaders can embody coach-like behaviors in everyday interactions to strengthen trust, decision-making, collaboration, and empowerment.
Participants will gain insight into:

  • How a coaching mindset transforms leadership behavior.
  • ICF Core Competencies most relevant to leadership roles.
  • Practical tools and reflective questions to build presence and empathy.
  • Real examples of shifting from directive to developmental leadership.

Coaching for Communication in Leadership – Christina Michaelidou, ACC

Communication is harder than ever amid complexity, cultural diversity, and hybrid work. Drawing on coaching principles and practices, this session explores how leaders can strengthen communication to support engagement and performance.
Participants will learn to:

  • Build trust and transparency through coaching conversations.
  • Foster open dialogue and active listening as core competencies.
  • Navigate difficult conversations with empathy and clarity.
  • Use coaching techniques to create conditions for inclusion and high performance.

Driving Inclusion from the Inside Out – Malcolm Fiellies, PCC

Inclusive leadership is both a moral imperative and a strategic advantage. Coaching equips leaders with self-awareness, deep listening, and reflective practice to challenge assumptions, embrace diverse perspectives, and lead with authenticity.
Participants will discover how coaching can help leaders:

  • Uncover unconscious biases and broaden decision-making lenses.
  • Enhance cultural intelligence for local and global impact.
  • Foster psychological safety and trust in high-performing teams.
  • Integrate inclusive thinking into strategy and daily operations.
